FJR proudly announce,
Drum roll please…
The Three Peaks Challenge for Mind
After the massive success of our last charity challenge ‘Run for Heros’, when we raised a whopping £2000 for the NHS. We are determined to smash our record with the help of our sponsors.
This year we will be supporting the incredible charity Mind.
Mind offers support and advice for people struggling with mental health problems, so no one suffers in silence. This cause is very close to our hearts, as 1 in 4 people will experience mental health problems every year. That could be your friend, family or loved ones.
At FJR, we are a big family – we nurture our staff and foster friendships for life. We look after each other and our local community. So, when there’s a mental health crisis knocking at our door, we answer that call the best way we can. Together. So that’s why we have created The Three Peaks Challenge.
What’s The Three Peaks Challenge? I hear you ask.
It’s simple.
We are going to Bike, Sweat or Step – up the largest mountains in England (Scafell Pike), Scotland (Ben Nevis) and Wales (Snowdon).
We have taken the ascent of each mountain and converted that into points.
Bike – Ben Nevis (1345 points)
Steps – Snowdon (1085 points)
Sweats – Scafell Pike (978 points)
The two rival teams will then compete to achieve the total ascent of The Three Peaks Challenge (3064m) in the fastest time.
The two teams of 22 will each cover:
Bike – 4500 km (London to Nova Scotia, Canada)
Steps – 2900km (London to Moscow)
Sweats – 326 workouts (or 326 Big Macs!)
We will tally our points daily and race to be the quickest team.
So when will the fundraising start?
The challenge will start on the 1st February 2022.
With 44 people competing until the targets are reached!
How will our progress be tracked?
We are a tech-savvy lot – so we will be using smart apps and trackers to record our progress, and we can’t wait to bring you along with us over the coming months!
Follow our challenge on Instagram @fjr_group, where we will keep you up to date with our progress.
How can I show support or donate?
You can donate from as little as £5 on our Go Fund Me account.
Please find it here.
We would also love it if you’d share our posts and spread the word.
Special Thanks
Last but not least, I would like to wish a special thank you to one of our brilliant recruiters, the lovely Hayleigh, for designing the challenge and taking the lead in coordinating the charity events for FJR.
