So I can’t believe it is February ’14 – already so much has happened! We returned from our Christmas close down on the 2nd, but the year really stated with a kick on the 6th. All were back in the office (well most of us, I may have had a little longer off and Ben was on paternity learning to become a Dad!) early on Monday morning having signed up to a 21 day January Boot camp/detox with Dave Donaldson from Prestige Fitness. Three weeks of intense early morning exercise, clean eating and little to no caffeine… lucky I wasn’t there!
Then it was back to work; picking up with our candidates and clients after the break. It was amazing to see the positivity that everybody brought into the New Year – new jobs flying in, many candidates looking for a fresh start and the FJR team hungry to succeed. I think it was fair to say January was looking good and I had a really positive feeling about it.
Internally we have expanded our team with the addition of a new FJR employee; ready and raring to join the FJR Technology team later this month (February). Everybody really got stuck in and that positive feeling was absolutely right with a record breaking January – FYI February looks pretty good too!
We closed the month with the inaugural “FrazerFest”, our annual celebration and recognition event which took place up at the beautiful Swan Hotel & Spa in the Lake District. It was great to get the whole team away from the office and amazing to see how we have grown; all the new faces as well as the trusted old guard all contributing to the incredible team culture we have built. We had an awesome guest speaker who challenged us to be better despite an outstanding 2013; we spoke about our goals and agreed on the reward when they are smashed! A relaxing trip to the spa was followed by cocktails, an amazing seven course meal, awards and recognition, all followed up with a flutter at the casino… which didn’t end well for me. I knew roulette wasn’t my strong point, but it turned out blackjack wasn’t either!
Finally, at the end of the month we signed the lease on our new office located in Manchester city centre; a permanent home for FJR to grow into.
What a January it has been! Spring is just 4 weeks away and time is really flying by, but as the saying goes “time flies when you’re having fun!”
