FJR Finance is representing a highly successful, global (but mid-sized) City-based Equity trading house to hire a Custody Operations Analyst within their Equity Operations division. The role is an initial 6-Month Fixed-Term Contract, with the strong potential to go permanent. The role has arisen due to a huge increase in trading activities, which in-turn is putting pressures and increased workloads onto their Equity Operations teams.

The role is situated within their busy and high volume Equity Operations team.

Our client is in need of a strong a Custody Operations Analyst who is able to demonstrate a strong working knowledge of a Custody Operations, demonstrating a broad range of skills including Settlements, Client Money Operations and Corporate Actions etc.

Member of an Operations team responsible for Custody tasks:

● To ensure day-to-day processing and responsibilities are undertaken in a timely fashion
● Within this role there may also be opportunities to cross-train within the Settlements area to ensure the necessary cover is in place
● Be part of a culture of excellence to help deliver outstanding service levels to all internal stakeholders, clients and brokers
● Appetite to challenge processes for continued and improved efficiency

 Summary of main tasks and Responsibilities

● Settlement of dematerialised UK and non-UK custody movements
● Management and settlement of physical securities
● Maintain static data related to Custody accounts
● Execution queries and matching with client & market counterparties
● Exception and fails monitoring
● Monitor and implement configuration rules to ensure STP where possible and overall reduction in risk
● Ensure ongoing statementing of client positions
● Reconciliation of stock and cash positions
● Post-trade communication with clients, brokers and internal stakeholders
● Compliance and working knowledge of FCA CASS rules
● SDRT/Stamp Duty compliance
● Liaison with traders / counterparts / other business areas as required
● Other operational tasks / duties designated at manager’s discretion
● Participate in cross training within Operations
● Timely processing of proxy voting meeting requests
● Administration of Section 793 requests
● Regular creation, development and presentation of accurate KPI’s and MI for management
● Attend and actively participate in departmental meetings across all business areas
● Abide by the company’s internal policies
● Speedy escalation of any issues or concerns to management
● Ensure any administrative tasks are undertaken as required (i.e., archiving, distribution of post, collection of faxes, filing etc.) and in a timely and efficient manner
● Comfortable with close cohesion within all areas of the Settlements Team and Middle Office to safeguard continued and improved teamwork / networking, enhancing overall operational efficiency
● Work closely with the Corporate Action team ensuring accurate distribution of Corporate Action Notices
● Holiday cover for other team members as required

Salary

£40 k pa - £60 k pa pro-rata’d for 6-months, plus pension and other benefits.
