The company trade and offer a range of services to their clients such as 1) Financing, 2) Freight, 3) Trading and M & A, across a broad range of physical Commodity products including and not limited to Dry Bulk, Freight, Metals and Coal. They are looking to increase their product ranges and also moving into and expansion into new markets such as Asia and the USA. They do trade some Derivatives (i.e. Futures & Options, but only to Hedge Physical positions).

Due to the size of the company, the company boasts a flat-structure and a much more relaxed working environment than a similar role within a large Investment Bank, or large and established Commodity Trading company. Also every has to “roll-up-their-sleeves” to get the work done, but the role will also be responsible for managing a team of Commodity Trade Support Analysts.

The role involves all Front-to-Back Operational support after the traders execute the trade, from drafting of ISDA Agreements, Confirmations, Settlements and Reconciliations etc. If you are currently a manager of one of these areas in a larger institution i.e. specialist within Confirmations, or Settlements and want to expand your knowledge into our parts of the Commodity Operations process, our client is willing to look at strong experience in individual disciplines too.
There is also a lot of project work as part of the role; just one example is a large project to move away from manual payments processing, to the creation of a whole new Treasury system which will in-turn help support Payments for scaled-up Trading activities. Plus you will also help setting up complex process for new business lines as they arise, as well as continual work-flow and process improvements.

Everyone that works at the company are fully bought into the culture and company objectives and are hard-working by nature. Having a strong Operational mind-set, the ability to look at and challenge existing processes is key, possessing a good understanding of Controls/ Operational Risk, as well as any external regulations that that affect the Trade Support team.

If you have the relevant senior Commodity Operations experience and want to be part of a true growth company, then please apply to this fantastic opportunity.
